The play “Is the case accidental?” by talented young boys and girls of Drama Studio Tirena is the fifth play of this year’s Juventafest, and was performed on the stage of the Sarajevo Youth Theatre on Sunday, September 8th. While presenting the absurd situations of society, director Ines Škuflić-Horvat and young actors made the audience laugh and reminded that young people are not passive observers of the world in which we live and which surrounds us.
With the performance of this play, the seventh International festival of high school theatre Juventafest neared its end and announced the appearance of the actors on the stage, that will with the dancing play “13” officially close the Festival tonight at 7 pm at the Youth Theatre.
This is a play by the Drama Studio of Istrian National Theatre from Pula, which reminds us that each of us is an irreplaceable link within one whole, which is important since we often, as individuals, hide behind the collective and give up our responsibilities.
This year’s Juventafest hosted more than 120 participants from Croatia, Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina, brought six exceptional plays, which gave the jury a difficult task. The decision to award the Grand Prix and the Special Jury Award will be made after the play “13” by the jury composed of Maja Izetbegović, Milena Minja Bogavac and Oliver Jović.
Also on the last day of Juventafest, the work of the inclusive workshops “Body under a mask”, “From playing to dancing”, “Musical theatre workshop” and “Puppetry” will be presented “, in which young people with Down Syndrome had important roles. The performances, which they started to prepare on Friday the day after the opening of the Festival, will be open to everyone interested at 1 pm today, at the Center for Culture and Youth in Municipality Center Sarajevo, OU Jelićeva.
